TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 7. Uzbekistan's volume of imports of industrial goods reached $524 million in January 2024, Trend reports.
The data of Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this indicator increased by 31.9 percent year-on-year.
In general, the specific weight in the total volume of imports amounted to 17 percent.
Imports of manufactured goods are mainly iron and steel ($260.2 million), metal products ($67.2 million), textile yarn, fabrics, finished goods ($43.9 million), rubber products ($35.2 million) and others.
Among the main partner countries with the largest volume of industrial exports to Uzbekistan is Russia. The country exported $206.9 million worth of products in January. China ranks second with $173.1 million worth of product exports. Then comes Kazakhstan ($50.1 million), Türkiye ($24.1 million) and Korea ($9.6 million).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's imports amounted to $3.08 billion in January 2024, which is 4.1 percent more year-on-year.
As per data of Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, the main share in import structure is represented by machinery and transportation equipment (43.2 percent), industrial goods (17.0 percent), as well as chemicals and similar products (11.8 percent).
