Iran executes drug traffickers

Two people were executed in the Sari City Prison in the Mazandaran Province on Thursday morning, the Iranian MEHR news agency reported.
According to information, the Mazandaran Province Prosecutor's Office said these individuals are accused of purchase and sale, and use of drug.
According to foreign media, 85 people accused of drug smuggling and rape have been executed since early 2011.
The UN and Amnesty International have repeatedly demanded from Iran to stop executions. Human rights activists state that the number of executions in Iran is more than the official statistics.
