In a statement carrying 200 signatures, the parliamentarians hoped that the new Egyptian president could attain the goals pursued by revolutionary and freedom-seeking forces by relying on the Muslim nation's potential.
The statement, which was read to the parliament Sunday morning, said the election of the Islamist candidate in Egypt manifested the will of the nation in a sensitive juncture of the country's history who raised their favorite candidate to power thanks to the Islamic awakening movement.
It also expressed hope that Morsi could help Egypt restore its particular role and position in the Islamic world especially in supporting Palestine.
