If the new government of president Hassan Rouhani won't be facing too many obstacles, he would respond to people's trust and hope, former president of Iran, head of the Expediency Discernment Council, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani said, ILNA news agency reported.

Rafsanjani made the remarks during the meeting with a group of Iranian MPs.

He also warned about radicalism and criticized "preferring group interests to national interest by some political groups."

"Constitution is the base of all laws. If the citizens' rights chapter of the constitution is implemented, everyone will be satisfied," he said, underlining the importance of people's vote.

He argued that The Quran does not let rulers to investigate citizens` private life, the report said.

Rafsanjani expressed hope that the failures in the recent years would compensate by tact in country's domestic and foreign policy.

During last days fundamentalists and conservative groups in Iran has increased attacks against Rouhani`s Reformist supporters.

Hassan Rouhani won the June 14 presidential elections in Iran, gathering over 50 percent of votes, securing his place as the next president of Iran.

Heads of several countries in the region and the world welcomed Rouhani's victory. The inauguration ceremony will be held in the Iranian parliament on August 4.

For the first time since the Islamic revolution, the inauguration ceremony will be attended by senior representatives of different countries, including the presidents of several states.countries.
