Iranian and Syrian businessmen were urged to get more acquainted with the economic opportunities of the two countries to help develop bilateral ties, IRNA reports.
Addressing a meeting with Syrian merchants and businessmen in Damascus, Iranian Ambassador to Syria Javad Torkabadi said that relations have been established between Iranian and Syrian private sectors and investors since the recent international exhibition in Damascus.
Iranian and Syrian business operators are attempting to pave the way for developing economic exchanges, he said.
Torkabadi expressed hope that the private sectors of the two countries help strengthen bilateral economic relations.
The businees people of Iran and Syria had meetings on the sidelines of the 4th exhibition for reconstruction of Syria recently held in that country.
