Qom Province has exported 63,000 tons of commodities valued at $56 million during the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2021), the head of the Industry and Mine Organization in Qom Province told Trend in an interview.
Export commodities are mostly plastic, auto parts, and metal products such as lead ingots, copper wire, aluminum, food and dairy products, shoes and slippers, and artificial fiber, Mahmoud Sirjani has indicated.
He noted that Qom Province exported products to Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the UAE, and India.
"There have been ten meetings organized by a working group in the province to accelerate production during first four months of the current year and it has visited 18 production units during this period and provided advances to 7 industrial units that employed 240 individuals," Sirjani noted referring to province's activities to boost production.
"Home appliances are one of the main products of Qom Province, especially washing machine and dishwasher manufactured by Pakshoma Company. The province is also a leading producer of plastic dishes in the country," he added.
Sirjani went on today that Qom ranks first in the country in the field of food industries and production of sweets, chocolate, and snacks.
The official mentioned that mines in Qom Province are producing stones and manganese. Downstream petrochemical materials such as propranolols and some basic and intermediary materials for petrochemical products are also supplied by the province.
The province produces various steel reservoirs and builds industrial shed and auto parts, there are 14 auto part manufacturing units active in the province and most of them have specific products.
"Qom is the only manufacturer of combined gearbox that is used by Arak Combine Manufacturing Company," Sirjani stressed
He stated that the main issue in production is home appliances production and providing liquidity to manufacturing units.
Trade Promotion Organization recently announced that Iran’s exports to its top destinations stood at $13.3 billion during the first four months of the current year.
