US dollar sold at 26,705 rials at Iran’s forex center

US dollar was sold at the price of 26,705 rials at Iran's forex center on October 26.

Euro was presented at the price of 33,837 rials, while British pound was traded at 42,972 rials, IRNA news agency reported on October 26.

Euro, British pound and US dollar were traded at the same prices on Saturday.

US dollar was also sold at the price of 32,170 rials at the free market on October 26, while euro and British pound were presented at the prices of 41,050, and 51,900 rials, respectively.

The foreign exchange center was officially inaugurated on September 24, 2012.

The center allows importers of goods including truck tires, construction equipment and synthetic fibers to buy dollars at a rate of 2 percent cheaper than the street rate at any given time.

According to the center's spokesman Samad Karimi, Iran's forex center has the capacity to trade over $100 million each working day.
