Iran's National Petrochemical Company has published a report April 23 including the company's production details in last fiscal year.

Iran's petrochemical industry has produced 46.33 million tons of products in the last fiscal year (ended March 20) while 13.422 million tons was consumed domestically and 18.657 million tons was exported, according to the report.

About $7.7 billion worth of petrochemicals were sold in domestic market, meanwhile the value of exported products accounted for $9.4 billion in last fiscal year.

The country's petrochemical output in 12th Iranian calendar month (Feb. 20- March 20) stood at 3.81 million tons.

About 1.31 million ton of the monthly output, worth $600 million was sold in domestic market, while the exports hit 1.4 million tons, worth $672 million.

Some 19 petrochemical complexes located in the port city of Mahshahr have produced more than 18 million ton of products while the 12 complexes located in Asalouyeh city produced over 20 million tons of petrochemical products during the one-year period.

Ghaed Basir, Carbon Iran, Rejal, Shir, Tabriz, Nouri, Polinar, Laleh and Polypropylene petrochemical companies produced the highest amount compared to other companies in the last month of previous fiscal year.

Petrochemical plants in Iran had to work below the actual production capacity due to the shortage of natural gas as feedstock, old production units and the sanctions, which has caused a decline in exports.

The country's petrochemical output capacity currently stands at 61 million tons. The Islamic Republic hopes to bring this capacity to 120 million tons by 2020 and 180 million tons by 2025.
