Iran-China annual trade turnover hits $31B

Trade turnover between Iran and China stood at $31.2 billion in 2016, according to the latest statistics released by the Chinese Customs Administration.

The figure indicates a fall by 7.7 percent compared to 2015, which was $33.8 billion.

China's exports to Iran in 2016 amounted to $16.42 billion, 7.6 percent less, year-on-year.

The country also imported $14.82 billion worth of goods from Iran in that period, 7.7 percent less compared to the 12-month period of 2015.

The trade turnover between the two countries was $51 billion in 2014, 31 percent more compared to the preceding year.

The figure stood at $34 billion in 2015, indicating a 34-percent plunge.
