By Fatih Karimov– Trend:

British Royal Dutch Shell submitted its study results on Kish gas field to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) ‎on Sept. 12.

The results were discussed during a meeting between the two parties in Tehran, Iran’s Oil Ministry said in a message.

The NIOC signed a memorandum of understanding with Shell in early December 2016 to study Iran’s Yadavaran and Azadegan oil fields, as well as Kish gas field and submit the study results and development proposal to the NIOC.

The British Dutch company earlier in August submitted the results of its survey of Yadavaran and Azadegan oil fields to NIOC based on the MoU.

Kish field is a giant gas field close to Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. It is one of the National Iranian Oil Company’s recent discoveries and holds 1.4 trillion cubic meters of gas in place, with about 70 percent recovery rate.

The field also holds at least 1 billion barrels of condensate, of which at least 331 million barrels are recoverable.

The Kish gas field is expected to yield 28 million cubic meters per day of natural gas, to be used domestically, and 11,300 bpd of gas condensate set for export.

In recent months Iran has handed over the study of several oil and gas fields to foreign companies under non-disclosure agreements (NDA).
