The foreign trade statistics of Iran's Customs Administration claim that 7,626 tons of tobacco and tobacco products from different countries were imported to Iran during the first five months of the current year (a year starts on March 21 in Iran), Mizan News Agency reported.
The total value of tobacco and tobacco products imported to Iran amounted to $54,262,103.
Tobacco and tobacco products were imported mainly from 11 countries, including Germany, Brazil, Thailand, Switzerland and the UAE.
Some 3,206 tons of tobacco and tobacco products worth $26,111,489 were imported from Turkey, the statistics said.
