Oil production in Iran’s Kharg Operational Zone has increased by 2 million barrels in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 21, 2018, as compared to the last year, Abbas Rajabkhani head of the operational zone, told ILNA.

“The major part of the oil production accounted for Abuzar field, as the output has increased by 4,000 barrels per day as a result of repairing four wells. This is while the repair of three wells has allowed to increase the oil output by 3,100 barrels per day at Forouzan field. Moreover, the volume of oil production has increased by 2,500 barrels per day in Dorud field with the repair of D15, D11, D29 wells, as well as drilling of a new well,” he noted.

Rajabkhani said that six drilling platforms have been active in Kharg Operational Zone in the first six months of this year. Moreover, 11 wells have been repaired and one new well was drilled in Kharg Operational Zone, he added.

“With the accumulation of 40-50 million cubic feet of gas per day at Forouzan field in the next several months, it will be possible to produce around 5,000 barrels of oil at this field,” he said.
