Iran's Tavanir has awarded 2 trillion rials (app. $47.6 million) to the industry and agriculture sectors, Mohammad Hassan Motevalizadeh, CEO of Iran Power Generation and Transmission Company (Tavanir), said at the sidelines of the 11th Iran International Renewable Energy, Lighting & Energy Saving Exhibition, Trend reports referring to ISNA.

According to Motevalizadeh, this year (started March 21, 2018), the industry and agriculture sectors saved energy during peak times.

Motevalizadeh said the Iranian Energy Ministry's incentive strategy will continue. He also noted the importance of the development of renewable energy, adding that it is important to pay attention to the fuel used.

Another issue that should be kept in focus, according to the CEO, is the participation of citizens in energy production and consumption, as the private sector cannot always sell the electricity it produces to the government.

"Regarding subscribers with high energy consumption, it is expected to make changes in prices. Prices will be the same as the cost of electricity produced via renewable energy sources," he said.

Motevalizadeh said that subscribers have been offered to buy electricity at this price.
