Iranian national company talks on progress in petrochemical project implementation

The progress is observed in the implementation of 23 petrochemical projects in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Asaluyeh county of Iran’s southern Bushehr province, Project Manager of the Iranian National Petrochemical Company Ali Mohammad Bosaqzadeh said.

“The implementation of these projects has advanced by 5-99.7 percent,” Bosaqzadeh added, Trend reports referring to the company’s website. “Some 21 projects relate to the second phase while 2 projects - to the first phase. Asaluyeh county will play a key role in Iran's petrochemical industry in the near future.”

“The petrochemical industry is an engine in Iran’s various economic sectors,” the project manager said. “Therefore, the Iranian National Petrochemical Company is taking steps to increase the production volume and the range of petrochemical products.”

Presently, Iran produces about 66 million tons of petrochemicals a year. Some 31 million tons of that volume are sold as final products. Some 22.5 million tons of these final products are exported. The production volume is expected to reach 100 million tons and the revenues are expected to reach $28 billion in Iran till March 21, 2021.
