TEHRAN, Iran, Jan.14

Trend:

Iran is increasing petrochemical production to 100 million tons by 2023, said the Managing Director of the National Petrochemical Company, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"Iran has 68 petrochemical plants that annually produce 90 million tons. The production capacity is predicted to reach 100 million tons by March 2023," Morteza Shahmirzaei noted.

The National Petrochemical Company and Pars Special Economic Energy Zone are cooperating to increase production capacity, he indicated.

The future projects would be based on combined feeds and increased investment in petrochemical products such as propylene and polypropylene.
