In the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2021), the production of some mineral products such as cement and crude steel in Iran has decreased compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
The statistics of Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade show that the production of crude steel, cement, steel products, alumina, and coal concentrate has decreased in the current Iranian year compared to the same period last year.
The Ministry`s statistics show that the production of copper cathodes, aluminum ingots, and porcelain has increased during the mentioned period.
Iran produced around 21 million tons of crude steel during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year, which was 2.2 percent lower than last year. The country's steel product output stood at 19.9 million tons in the current Iranian year, dropping 5.8 percent compared to the figure for last year.
According to the statistics, Iran`s cement companies produced 48 million tons of cement in the first nine months of the current Iranian year, down by 9.1 percent year-on-year from 53.5 million tons in the same period last year.
Production of aluminum ingots in Iran rose 24.7 percent, reaching 329,411 tons, during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year, as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
Coal concentrate production also decreased by 11.7 percent in the mentioned period, compared to the same period last year.
Production of copper cathode in Iran rose by 6.5 percent, to 227,000 tons in the first 9 months of the current year.
