Iranian cleric sentenced to death

An Iranian famous cleric Majid Jafari Tabar was sentenced to death, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, the Spokesperson for the Iranian Judiciary announced.
Ejei told Iran's ANA (Azad News Agency) that the initial verdict has been issued, but Jafar Tabar can appeal against that.
Iranian cleric was charged on "divination, embezzlement, his false claims about being in connection with Imam Mehdi."
Imam Mehdi is believed by Twelver Shī'a Muslims, an ultimate savior of humankind and the final Imam of the Twelve Imams who will emerge with Jesus Christ in order to fulfill their mission of bringing peace and justice to the world.
Iranian media outlets reported that Jafari Tabar was arrested six month ago.
Ejei said that his wife also was sentenced to death, charged on taking part in Jafari Tabart's committed crimes.
