Iran, Bashkortostan Republic keen to broaden all-out ties

Sanayee and Hamidov explored the avenues for for bolstering of mutual cooperation in economic, trade, scientific and industrial areas between the two countries, Irna reported.

The Bashkortostan president reiterated that the two countries have bright perspective of bilateral ties.

Hamidov called for the broadening of economic cooperation between Bashkortostan and Iran.

'The value of trade transactions between Bashkortostan and the Islamic Republic of Iran exceeded $100 billion until few years ago, but this figure has considerably declined at the present and it hits about $300 million; hence this situation should be improve, because we believe that the tow countries have sufficient capacities for it,' he added.

Sanayee, for his part, referred to powsitive trend of Iran-Russia cooperation, including the cooperation between the regions of the twol countries, and propose devising a comprehensive plan for expansion of Iran-Bshkortosrtan relations.

Bashkortostan is a Muslim-populated republic with 4.1 million population and located in an area of 143,600 square kilometers in Russia's Volga region.
