By Fatih Karimov - Trend: At least five Iranians and three Afghans have been killed in Syrian clashes over the past few days.
Ahmad Estehkami, Hamid Dailami, Majid Sanei, Mojtaba Karami, and Reza Damroodi were the Iranian persons who were killed in Syria, IRNA news agency reported Oct. 23.
Iranian media have not provided details about how the five individuals were killed in Syria.
Western media say Iran had already sent hundreds of troops to northern and central Syria, after reports that up to 2,000 are to be deployed. Iran says it provides military consultant for Bashar Asad regime.
At least three commanders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been killed in Syria over the past three weeks. Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani was killed in Syria on Oct. 8.
Hamedani was killed near the city of Aleppo during his mission to provide consultations services to Syrian Islamic front forces against ISIL, the public relations department of the IRGC said in a statement.
