Yandex to open office in Tehran

Russian web browser company Yandex will open an office in Iran, Iranian Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Mahmoud Vaezi said.
He made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with the Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Nikiforov.
Iran will boost close cooperation with Russia in areas related to Internet and launching satellites, Vaezi said, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on October 25.
He added that as the first step, the two countries will open their radars toward each others.
Iran and Russia will boost cooperation in data transit through the EPEG (Europe-Persia Express Gateway) consortium, he noted.
It was decided that the two sides will cooperate in boosting security of information and networks, Vaezi said, adding that Russian companies will provide Iran will expertise on social networks.
