Iranians will follow guidelines of Leader to take part in elections - Rouhani

President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that all regional countries have a close watch on Iran's February 26 elections and that Iranian nation will absolutely follow guidelines of the Supreme Leader about taking part in elections on February 26, Irna reported.

The President made the remarks to Conference on 'Iran Future Economy and Workers'.
President Rouhani said longer queues and higher turnout in the elections will pave the way for economic vibrancy, joint venture investment and employment of the youth.

'I hope the Interior Ministry and the Guardian Council will consider necessary timeframe for public votes; all should know that all eyes are focused on Iran.'

He asked Iranian nation, including workers, men and women, the youth, villagers and urban citizens, to take part in the elections to ensure their representatives will pursue their agenda at the legislature to bring about economic vibrancy and employment of the youth.

'We should elect the ones who think of producing sector and growth of non-oil exports. We should elect the ones who are bent on economic growth and have the power of campaign against recession.

'According to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, we should choose those who are loyal to the revolution and love the nation, being aware of enemy conspiracies. Our nation will go to the polling stations with the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution and the government officials in the year of solidarity and cooperation.'

'We want to elect representatives whose concern is national interests. We want to elect representatives for the Experts Assembly that will elect the best for leadership of the Islamic Republic. (I mean) the kind of leadership, who will shoulder the heavy responsibility for the sake of Iranian nation and Islamic Ummah.'

The president said that the dear Iranian people should be thankful to the spiritual assets, security of the country, leadership and its integration.

'If we focus on progress, the country will move on the path to elevation.'
