Azerbaijan, Turkey sign agreement on TANAP gas pipeline

Turkey and Azerbaijan have signed several documents in Istanbul with participation of President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, AzerTag said.

President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed the Intergovernmental Agreement on Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP).
The Agreement was also signed by Azerbaijani minister of industry and energy Natig Aliyev and Turkish minister of energy and natural resources Taner Yildiz.

A preliminary agreement between BOTAS and SOCAR on organizational issues with regard to TANAP was signed by Azerbaijani minister of industry and energy Natig Aliyev, Turkish minister of energy and natural resources Taner Yildiz, SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev and BOTAS deputy director general Mehmet Konuk.

The Host Country Agreement between the Turkish Government and Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project Company was signed by Turkish minister of energy and natural resources Taner Yildiz and SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev on behalf of TANAP.

EU intends to conclude agreement on Trans-Caspian gas pipeline

The European Union (EU) intends to sign an agreement on the basis of the legal project of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, the EU Council on Central Asia said following the discussions of the foreign ministers of EU countries. Achieving an agreement can be an important contribution in support of the 'Southern Gas Corridor'.
Shah Deniz consortium completes evaluating gas export routes to South-East and Central Europe

The consortium developing "Shah Deniz" field has completed evaluating potential export routes of gas to South-East and Central Europe. As a result, Nabucco West has been chosen as a priority project for gas supply in this direction, a joint statement of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and BP said. The gas pipeline will begin at the Turkish-Bulgarian border and end in Baumgarten. Thus, the partners cease considering South-Eastern Europe gas pipeline (SEEP) as a potential route. This decision was made on the basis of the previously announced criteria for choosing a route for the export of gas from the "Shah Deniz" field to Europe.

Esso Switzerland's assets conveyed to SOCAR

On June 29, the signing ceremony for the Change in Control procedure for purchase of ExxonMobil's Esso Switzerland assets by SOCAR took place in Zurich, Switzerland. Total cost of assets bought by SOCAR in Switzerland is $330 million.

Fitch affirms KazMunaiGaz national company at 'BBB-'; Outlook Positive

Fitch Ratings has affirmed Kazakhstan-based KazMunaiGaz National Company's (NC KMG) Long-term foreign and local currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) at 'BBB-' and 'BBB' respectively. Fitch has additionally affirmed NC KMG's foreign and local currency senior unsecured ratings at 'BBB-' and 'BBB' respectively and Short-term foreign currency IDR at 'F3'. The Outlooks for the Long-term IDRs are Positive, the agency said.

Kazakhstan finishes acquisition of 10 percent stake in Karachaganak project

Chevron distributed statement said that Settlement Agreement signed on December 14, 2011 between the participating companies of Karachaganak project and the Republic of Kazakhstan was carried out and completed. As a result a 10 percent stake in the project was transferred Kazakhstan.

As a result of the agreement stake in the Karachaganak consortium are distributed as follows: BG Group (29.25 percent), ENI (29.25 percent), Chevron (18 percent), Lukoil (13.5 percent ) and the Republic of Kazakhstan (10 percent).
