(Panorama.am) - Losses of drinking water make up 80%, Serzh Popoff, general director of Yerevan Water, told reporters today. He assured that in ten year losses of water will make up 50%.
Popoff said water loss is much less in his motherland France. 1 square meter makes up 3-4 euro in France. Armenia has to recover the damage of lost water by paying high tariffs, reports Trend.
The general director said measures are taken to discover illegal use of water in the course of 6 months. Some 140 illegal water users were connected to the network from June 1, 2005 to November 30 and another 1376 were brought into the legal field in the same period, 2006, the said.
