Georgia and Qatar spoke about the potential cooperation in trading quotas for greenhouse gas emissions, Trend reports via the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
The issue was discussed at the meeting between the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Qatar Faleh Bin Nasser Al Thani and the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Nino Tandilashvili.
According to Qatar’s minister, it is important for Georgia and Qatar to sign a memorandum of understanding on the environmental issues in the future.
The parties also discussed the strategic measures Georgia has been taking in order to address climate change, as well as the importance of waste management and recycling.
