Tan Siew Hoon and her husband Wong Ngit Liong, chief executive officer of Venture Corporation, were flying on September 20 last year. Then Jiamin was one of the cabin crew in the business class.

The 25-year-old stewardess claimed they were 80 minutes from Narita Airport and she was serving Wong when his wife became upset and slapped her, The Straits Times said.

"Why are you talking to my husband," the 61-year-old Tan was quoted as loudly asking Then.

The case was scheduled Thursday for April 3. If convicted, Tan faces a jail sentence of up to a year or a fine of up to 1,000 Singapore dollars (724 US dollars), or both.

The charge came a week after Tan settled a civil claim by Then with an unspecified payout.

Venture Corporation is Singapore's second largest contract manufacturer.
