Member of parliament Serhiy Teryokhin (BYuT faction) submitted for consideration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a draft law "On Introducing Amendments into the Law of Ukraine "On Elections of Members of Parliament" (concerning the barrier that a party has to go through to enter the parliament).

He said in an interview with UIAN that the draft law stipulates to increase the barrier at parliamentary elections to 10%.

S.Teryokhin stressed that the BYuT faction had "a positive discussion" on this issue, reported Unian.

According to the MP, the 10% barrier will help create a two-party system in Ukraine. "Small factions will not be bought" and will not quit the coalition, the MP stressed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, since the year 2006, a party has go through a 3% barrier to enter the parliament. Earlier the barrier made 4%.
