Actress Lindsay Lohan avoided arrest when her representatives posted part of a 200,000-dollar bail after an alcohol bracelet detected that she had been drinking, dpa reported.
A judge first issued a new arrest warrant for Lohan, the star of such movies as Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, and then revoked it after bail was posted, People Magazine reported Tuesday. A new hearing is scheduled for July.
An alcohol-monitoring bracelet the 23-year-old was ordered to wear around her ankle as a condition for her probation detected a violation of a drinking ban imposed on Lohan, who is believed to have had a drink Sunday after the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles, the magazine quoted an unnamed source as saying.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney confirmed that the bracelet, known as a SCRAM device, was set off by an "alcohol-related violation."
Lohan was fitted with the bracelet last month as part of her probation after two convictions of drunk driving.
In posts on the microblogging site Twitter, Logan denied that her bracelet had gone off. "It's physically impossible, considering I've nothing for it to go off," she wrote.
