Strauss-Kahn to visit IMF after dropped charges

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund who received a legal reprieve from sexual assault charges earlier this week, plans to visit his former employer, an IMF spokesman said Thursday, DPA reported.

"Like any former managing director of the IMF, Mr Strauss-Kahn would be welcome to visit the Fund and I understand that he intends to make a personal visit to headquarters," David Hawley, deputy director of external relations, told reporters during a routine briefing.

He could arrive in Washington as "early as next week," Hawley said. But it would be a private visit not open to public view, he emphasized.
