An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck off the north-western coast of Indonesia's Sumatra island Wednesday, but there were no immediate reports of damage, dpa reported guoting the geophysics agency as saying.
The quake occurred at 7:27 am (0027 GMT) 24 kilometres south-west of Simeulue district in Aceh province at a depth of 10 kilometres, the Meteorology, Geophysics and Climatology Agency said.
There was no threat of a tsunami, it said.
