An fire in a disabled workshop in Germany killed 14 people Monday and injured seven others, police said, dpa reported.
The blaze started with an explosion in a storage room and then engulfed the woodwork facility in Titisee-Neustadt in the Black Forest region of southern Germany, they said.
Firefighters with breathing equipment were able to rescue several people, including disabled employees and staff, from the burning building.
About 120 people with mental and other disabilities are employed in the workshop, run by charity Caritas.
Emergency services rushed from surrounding regions to the site, with helicopters also invovled in the rescue effort.
