(RIA Novosti) - Russia's upper house of parliament Friday dismissed Vladimir Ustinov from his post as Prosecutor General following a recommendation from President Vladimir Putin.
The senators voted 140-0 to dismiss Ustinov, with two abstentions, reports Trend.
Speaking at the session, the presidential representative to the Federation Council said that Putin had made the move at Ustinov's own request.
"This decision has been made by the president based on Ustinov's personal request," Alexander Kotenkov said.
