Germany reported first in terms of investments to Ukraine
(ForUm) - Among European investors to Ukraine Germany occupies the first place, Ukrainian Minister for Fuel and Energy Yuriy Boyko told a session of the Ukrainian - German High-Level Economic Group in Kyiv on Thursday, "Cabinet's press office" reported. The volume of direct investment from Germany to Ukraine, as of early 2006, amounted to 5.505 bn. USD.
On outcomes of the first session, the parties acknowledged energy, banking business, agriculture, coal industry, metallurgy, engineering and public utilities as priority spheres for investments. The first session of the Group was held in Berlin on July 18, 2005, reports Trend.
On February 14 to 16, 2006 Kyiv hosted a Group session in a narrow mode, in which representatives of the two states' Secretariats and two working groups into metallurgy and coal industry took part.
The High Level Economic Group was initiated by President Viktor Yushchenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
