( AP ) - A suicide car bomber hit a NATO convoy in the Afghan capital Thursday, killing two foreigners and wounding three others. Americans were among the victims but it was not immediately known whether they were wounded or killed.

Gen. Ali Shah Paktiawal, head of criminal investigations for Kabul police, said a Nepalese man also was among those killed or wounded in the attack in eastern Kabul.

The bomber also wounded two Afghan civilians, said Najibullah Samsur, a local police chief. Samsur could not say whether the foreign victims were soldiers or contractors working for the alliance's troops.

NATO confirmed that there was an explosion near one of its convoys, but provided no details on any casualties.
