BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 29. A powerful tremor has shaken the Irkutsk region of Russia, Trend reports via the Baikal branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
According to the statement, the earthquake took place today at 06:54 (GMT +8).
The epicenter was located near Lake Baikal, 36 kilometers from the village of Bolshoye Goloustnoye in the Irkutsk region.
The magnitude of the tremors on the Richter scale was 5.6.
The earthquake hasn't caused any destruction or casualties.
