Two soldiers of Turkish security forces were killed in a clash with members of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) in southeastern Turkey, semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Sunday.

The clash erupted between security forces and a group of PKK members in the rural area of Beytussebap town in Sirnak province late Saturday night, leaving two Turkish soldiers dead.

Meanwhile, two PKK rebels were also killed in the clash, said the report.

The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, took up arms in 1984 in an attempt to create an ethnic homeland in southeastern Turkey. Since then over 40,000 people have been killed in conflicts involving the group. Enditem
