The four PKK terrorists have been eliminated as part of the operation in northern Iraq, the Turkish General staff said in a statement Sept. 22.
The operation to eliminate the terrorists has been carried out in the area of Gara in northern Iraq, the message says.
It is also noted in the message that this morning another operation has been carried out in the Turkish province of Agri, during which 6 terrorists have been killed.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted more than 25 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
