Turkey’s export of fruit and vegetables dropped by 11 percent from January through December 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, exceeding 4 million tons, Turkey’s Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Exporters Association told Trend on Jan. 16.
During this period, the revenues of Turkey from export of fruit and vegetables dropped by 3 percent compared to the same period of 2018, amounting to $2.2 billion.
Over 1.1 million tons of fruit were exported from Turkey in 2019, which is 5 percent more compared to 2018. The revenues of country from fruit export increased by 2 percent, and amounted to $846 million.
Turkey’s export of vegetables dropped by 2 percent amounting to $1.2 million tons, and export of vegetables reached $645 million.
Export of citrus fruits dropped by 20 percent and amounted to 1.6 million tons worth $756 million.
