Turkey's exports of citrus fruits to Georgia increases

Turkey’s export of citrus fruits to Georgia grew in February 2020 by 32 percent compared to February 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey's Union of Exporters of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables.

According to the union, Turkey's export of citrus to Georgia amounted to 3,728 tons, which makes up 2 percent of Turkey’s total citrus export in the last year.

In February 2020, Turkey exported citrus worth $1.3 million to Georgia, which is 58 percent more compared to the export figures of February 2019.

In the reported period, Turkey exported citrus worth $204.4 million to world markets, which is 23 percent more compared to the same month of 2019.

In January 2020, 1,650 tons of citrus were exported from Turkey to Georgia for a total of $851,700.

Total imports to Georgia from Turkey amounted to $97.2 million in January 2020. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $19.8 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in January 2020 exceeded $117 million, which is 13.3 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover in January 2020 exceeded $33.9 billion.

In January 2020, Turkey's total export exceeded $14.7 billion, which is increase by 6.4 percent compared to January 2019.

Turkey's total import increased by 18.8 percent in January 2020 compared to the same month of 2019 and exceeded $19.2 billion.
