As of the end of the first quarter of 2020, 9,734 vessels passed through the Turkish Bosphorus Strait, of which 4,223 accounted for cargo vessels, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
Some 1,521 cargo ships passed through the Bosphorus in January 2020, 1,369 cargo ships in February and 1,333 cargo ships in March.
"Some 47 warships passed through the Bosphorus in the first quarter of 2020," the ministry said.
As of 2019, 41,112 vessels passed through the Bosphorus Strait, of which 18,637 accounted for cargo ships.
