Volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish Izmir port revealed

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish Izmir port in the province of Izmir exceeded 2.2 million tons from January through March 2020, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

Over the reporting period, 133,814 tons of cargo were transshipped by ships flying the Turkish flag via the Izmir port, and 2.1 million tons of cargo - by ships flying the flag of other countries.

In 1Q2020, the volume of cargo transshipped by transit through the Izmir port amounted to 30,914 tons.

During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by ships via Turkish ports exceeded 94.6 million tons.

According to the ministry, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 7.4 million tons from January through March 2020.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flags amounted to 3.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 83.1 million tons in 1Q2020.

Over the reporting period, 18.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to 32.1 million tons in March 2020.

The volume of cargo transshipped by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.8 million tons.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their countries' flags amounted to 1.3 million tons, while cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 27.9 million tons.

In March 2020, 5.9 million tons of cargo were transported by transit through the ports of Turkey.
