Volume of cargo shipment via Turkish ports from China for 10M2021 unveiled

Some 8.01 million tons of cargo were transshipped via the Turkish ports from China in the first 10 months of 2021, the Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend.

According to the ministry, during the reporting period ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 69,049 tons of cargo from China, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 7.01 million tons.

The ships flying the Chinese flag delivered 50,677 tons of cargo to the ports from January through October 2021, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, 1.6 million tons of cargo from China were transited through the Turkish ports.

The total volume of cargo transshipped through the Turkish ports exceeded 318.9 million tons while ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 25 million tons of goods.

The volume of cargo transshipped via the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries exceeded 293.8 million tons during the reporting period, the ministry said.

At the same time, more than 63.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports.

Over 32.4 million tons of cargo were transshipped through the Turkish ports in October 2021. The ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.3 million tons of cargo while 30 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries in October 2021.

Moreover, over 6.6 million tons of goods were transited through the Turkish ports, the ministry said.
