Despite the global economic crisis, there is significant growth in the Iranian economy and unemployment is falling, the Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was quoted by Fars news agency as saying at a meeting with his Czech counterpart Karel Schwarzenberg at the UN General Assembly in New York.
He said that Iran is able to produce 70 percent of the equipment and spare parts necessary for its oil and gas industry.
Earlier, Iran could produce only 10 percent of the equipment and spare parts. However, after the UN imposed sanctions, the figure increased to 70 percent, demonstrating that the boycott against Iran was ineffective, Mottaki said.
Mottaki underlined Iran's economic attractiveness for foreign investors and offered Czech businessmen to develop trade and invest in Iran.
