Squadron minesweeper "Vilayet" will join Caspian Sea-based Iranian naval forces soon, Deputy Commander of Iranian Naval Forces Admiral Gulhamrza Hadim was quoted by ISNA news agency as reporting.
The Admiral said the squadron minesweeper "Vilayet" is a sophisticated form of warship "Jamaran". System and technology capacities of the warship "Vilayet" have been strengthened.
The minesweeper "Jamaran" was built in February 2010.
FARS news agency called it "the biggest defensive project". "Jamaran" is capable of fighting submarine, above-water and air targets. In addition, the warship has enough room for a helicopter. The warship can also be used in "electronic war".
