The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is satisfied with the organization of Eurovision 2012 Song Contest in Baku so far, Eurovision event supervisor Sietse Bakker told journalists on the eve of the Great Final show.

"Let us wait until it [contest] is over, but so far it has been a successful Eurovision," he said.

Bakker added, that what EBU heard from most of the delegations so far is that they are "extremely satisfied with the production, with the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people, with the hotels, transportation, logistics in the city, fantastic Euroclub, and of course, the fantastic stage built in the Crystal Hall".

He said, that they are impressed by the hospitality in Azerbaijan, the politeness they have been treated with, the friendliness of people.

Speaking about challenges in the organization of the event Bakker stressed that there were no significant problems.

"When you organize such a big event as Eurovision Song Contest, you always meet challenges, no matter it is Moscow, Oslo, Düsseldorf or Azerbaijan. You always have challenges that we are adequately dealing with. So far, it is very good organization, hospitable people, two great semifinals and I hope even better final tonight," he said.

"When you do a big production, where there are so many people, you always have challenges to be in time with the show, to get all the delegations here in time, to make sure that there is security, that everyone have their tickets, everyone gets into their sits in time. So today is very tight schedule, but it was rehearsed many times and so far we are confident that there will be a great evening tonight," he said.

Bakker added that in the Eurovision Song Contest the EBU has very clear rules about what is allowed when it comes to statement of political nature. "It has not been allowed to make political statements within the television show. We have had these rules always and we will continue to have that rule and strongly hold on to it," he said.
