‘Eastern Partnership’ foreign ministers’ third meeting scheduled for July 23

The third meeting of foreign ministers of the "Eastern Partnership" will be held in Brussels on July 23, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman Elman Abdullayev said at a news briefing on Friday.

The third meeting of foreign ministers of the "Eastern Partnership" will be held in Brussels on July 23, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Elman Abdullayev said at a news briefing on Friday.

"The Azerbaijani delegation will be headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev," Abdullayev said.

He said the meeting will discuss issues of cooperation with the EU.

The Eastern Partnership Program is a Polish-Swedish initiative under the EU Neighbourhood Policy aimed at improving EU relations with six former Soviet countries Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine and Armenia. The programme envisages the allocation of 600 million euro to these countries until 2013 to strengthen state institutions, control borders and help small companies.
