In the first six months of 2013, Azerbaijan imported some 52,204 mobile phones and other devices running on wireless networks (tablet computers, cordless phones, etc.), for a total sum of $2.307 million, Azerbaijan' State Statistical Committee told Trend on Monday.
In comparison with the same period in 2012, the number of imported mobile phones in the country dropped by 28.85 percent (last year some 73,373 mobile phones were imported), the State Statistical Committee said. In value terms, this indicator also declined by 36.38 percent.
At the average about 9 million mobile phones were imported monthly in the country. The monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms amounted to more than $384,000.
