The women's beach volleyball qualifications at the Baku 2015 European Games ended on June 18.
The Azerbaijani volleyball players, Zinaida Liubymova and Vivian Cunha, defeating the Finnish volleyball players with a 2-0 score, reached the 1/8 finals.
They will face athletes from Italy in the 1/8 finals.
The other pair of Azerbaijani female volleyball players, Iuliia Karimova and Raquel Ferreira, lost to the Czech athletes in the qualifications with a 0-2 score.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be
representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
