As of March 1, 2016, the bank reserves in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.81 billion manats (AZN), which exceeds the same period of 2015 by 75.7 percent (1.03 billion manats), the Azerbaijani Central Bank's report as of late February 2016 said.
The official exchange rate is 1.5269 AZN/USD Apr. 11.
The expanded monetary base in Azerbaijan totaled 7.32 billion manats as of March 1, 2016.
In annual terms, the monetary base in Azerbaijan decreased by 24.8 percent. For comparison, as of late February 2015, this figure was 9.74 billion manats. The monetary base reduced by 3.2 percent in Azerbaijan compared to early 2016 (7.56 billion manats).
As of March 1, 2016, the monetary base in manats amounted to 6.39 billion manats versus 9.11 billion manats as of March 1, 2015.
In the mentioned period, the volume of money in circulation amounted to 5.5 billion manats, while this figure was 8.7 billion manats as of March 1, 2015.
The ratio of the mass of cash in circulation to the monetary base was 75.1 percent as of March 1, 2016, decreasing by 14.3 percent compared to the same index as of March 1, 2015.
