BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan manufactured products worth 60.8 billion manat ($35.7 billion) from January through November 2023, which is one percent less year-on-year, Trend reports via the country's State Statistics Committee.
The data from the committee showed that production in the oil and gas industry declined by 1.9 percent in the reporting period, while production in the non-oil sector climbed by 7.8 percent.
Meanwhile, the mining sector accounted for 67.9 percent of industrial output, the processing sector for 26.8 percent, the production, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam for 4.5 percent, and the water, waste treatment, and recycling sector for 0.8 percent.
In addition, production of commercial oil in Azerbaijan decreased by 7.5 percent from January through November 2023, while production of commercial gas increased by 4.3 percent year-on-year.
In the processing industry, wood processing and manufacturing of wood products increased by 82.7 percent; manufacturing of computer, electronic, and optical products increased by 74.3 percent; production of cars, trailers, and semi-trailers increased by 52.1 percent; production of machinery and equipment increased by 37.4 percent; and production of construction materials increased by 29.8 percent.
Besides, manufacturing of printing products grew by 26.7 percent, production of beverages by 27.5 percent, manufacturing of finished metal products by 19.2 percent, production of paper and cardboard by 18.9 percent, production of rubber and plastic mass products by 20.4 percent, manufacturing of textile industry products by 12.7 percent, production of foodstuffs by 9.8 percent, production of furniture by 5.7 percent, manufacturing of petroleum products by 8.4 percent, manufacturing of chemical industry products by 8.3 percent, production of electrical equipment by 10.3 percent, manufacturing of pharmaceutical products by 1.1 percent, and manufacturing of tobacco products by 9.6 percent.
The data from the State Statistics Committee also showed that manufacturing of leather and leather goods, as well as footwear, decreased by 11.4 percent, clothing by 13.3 percent, industrial products by 12 percent, vehicles by 9.9 percent, work on the installation and repair of machinery and equipment by 17.6 percent, and products of the metallurgical industry by 22.2 percent.
Over the reporting period, production in the sector of generation, distribution, and supply of electricity, gas, and steam increased by 1.4 percent, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment, and recycling, by 16 percent over the year.
Industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan manufactured products worth 86 billion manat ($50.5 billion) in 2022, which is 1.1 percent less year-on-year.
