The Armenian armed forces broke the ceasefire in several directions.

On Feb.6, the Armenian armed forces opened fire from positions in the nameless heights in the Noyenberyan region of Armenia to Azerbaijani troops in the nameless heights in the Azerbaijani Gazakh region at 18.10-18.15, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.

Further, the Armenian armed forces opened fire from positions in the nameless heights and outside the Garakhanbayli, Ashagi Seyidahmadli and Alkhanli villages in the Fizuli region at 15.45- 15.50, 16.00-16.15 on Feb.6 and 01.45- 01.50 on Feb.7, as well as from positions outside the Gizil Oba village in the Tartar region at 00.45- 00.50, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
